생칠
나무틀을 짜서 사포질 한 다음 생옻칠을 얇게 펴바른 다음 휴지로 닦아 낸다.
Painting Raw Lacquer
Painting the raw lacquer requires smoothing the desired wood shape by using sandpaper followed by wiping out blots.

호칠
목심저피나무(木心芧被漆器)에 삼베를 싼 다음 찹쌀 풀과 생옻칠을 골고루 섞어 펴 바른다.
Spread Raw Lacquer
Wrap a chestnut wooden box with ramie fabric and spread raw lacquer mixed with glutinous rice flour.

토해칠
황토분과 물을 50 대 50으로 섞어 반죽을 만들어서 펴 바른다.
Red Clay Paste and Plaster
Mix red clay powder and water by 50:50 to make paste and plaster on the surface. 

정제칠&자개
잘 건조시킨 다음 정제옻칠을 바르고 자개를 붙힌다.
Refined lacquer and Mother-of-Pearl
After well drying, plaster refined lacquer and attach processed pieces of mother-of-pearls.
