Najeonchilgi, or “Lacquerware inlaid with Mother-of-Pearl” is a Mother-of-pearl lacquerware that the finest pieces of mother-of-pearl produced and inlaid decoratively on the lacquered wood by the hand of the craftsman.
Najeonchilgi, or “Lacquerware inlaid with Mother-of-Pearl” had been introduced from China’s Tang Dynasty to the ancient Korean peninsula, Shilla and bloom in Goryeo and passed down to Chosun. And now, it became one of the arts that represent Korea.
